But as far as weight loss is concerned, exercise is not really that great. First of all, people who work out hard tend to eat frequently, and in many cases consume more calories than they burn off.

The big issue is that for people older than 40, unless you are disciplined or work with a professional trainer, strenuous exercise often leads to leg and back injuries, hernias, and pulled muscles, which can take you out of commission for weeks or months, obviously not what you want.
